The process of therapy involves building a relationship within a safe and empathetic space, to create an environment of comfort for you to speak honestly and confidentially about your experiences and feelings. Psychotherapy is a collaboration between you and your therapist, rooted in dialogue, to help you explore and overcome challenges in your life. The process of change involves some discomfort and requires active participation on your part, often leading to increased awareness and insight, better relationships with yourself and others, solutions to specific problems, and an overall sense of empowerment, relief and healing.
Knot Alone requires at least 48 business hours’ notice (not including weekends or holidays) to reschedule or cancel appointments. Sessions cancelled less than 48 business hours’ prior to the appointment, including no-shows, are charged the full session fee. To notify us of a cancellation, please call or email at: leona@knotalone.ca Please note that we do not accept or receive text messages.
I believe that therapy should be accessible to everyone, for this reason I reserve a reduced-fee number of slots in my practice based on financial hardship. Please contact me to discuss further. {I currently do not have any openings for sliding scale appointments. You may request to be added to my wait-list for a sliding scale slot}
Typically, I see clients once a week because it allows us to move along at a good pace to work on your goals and build comfort with the nature of therapy. As you start to achieve your goals and feel more comfortable, you will feel ready to meet less frequently.
The number of therapy sessions and timeline varies depending on your goals, your presenting concerns and it's impact on your current life, as well as the style of therapy preferred, while recognizing each person’s journey is different. Psychotherapy can go on for years as goals and learning evolves, or as brief as six sessions.
At this time, I offer online and telephone counselling services to clients located anywhere in Ontario.
In a world where everyone is busy and on-the-go, or stuck in the same stressful boat of life on repeat, especially during a time of uncertainty, therapy can be a stress-saver from the comfort of your own home. Online therapy is an accessible option while ensuring your private information is kept safe and protected.
How it works…
Schedule a free 15- minute consultation to see if I'm a good fit (encouraged option)
Should our conversation feel right, paperwork will be emailed prior to our first session together.
Once your paperwork is received, you will be invited to our online platform and we will begin at your appointed time.
** Just like in-person appointments, confidentiality is the number one priority. A specific HIPAA-compliant platform is used for all online therapy sessions. It's easy to use and reliable, making online therapy accessible at your finger-tips.

Some things to remember before starting therapy online:
Ensure you have a reliable internet connection.
Test the audio and video before each session.
Find a location that is totally private so you can fully immerse yourself into the time you've carved out for yourself.
